The site was run formally by the ‘Learning Tree’ school, our client, The Buckingham Montessori School, has acquired the site and intending to refurbish and enhance the space. Our brief is to provide safe and level access throughout the site, with side, rear, and loft extension to provide the necessary space for the optimal learning environment. The elements added are designed to harmonize with the local vernacular and be of a high quality.

Planning Architecture are commissioned to create the best use of the space for a wider age range of children and ensure the design works with the client’s requirements. We are working closely with the Local Authority to ensure transparency and support with the proposal, we have fostered a healthy dialogue in support of the application.

A Dance Studio and Gym is proposed to encourage stimulation, growth and development, as well as a Library for quiet learning, by enhancing a child-centered method of education which involves child-led activities in a classroom with children of varying ages, this is in keeping with the principles of a Montessori School.
